University of Mary Hardin Baylor, USA

The University of Mary Hardin Baylor (UMHB) was chartered in 1845 by the Republic of Texas, making it the oldest continuously operating college in the state. Located in Belton, the school has traditionally been known for its excellent programs in nursing and education.

Challenge

The initial need for UMHB was to provide its students with a world-class learning environment, and to stay competitive in both enrollment and graduation percentages. The College of Engineering was particularly interested in incorporating interactive displays in their classrooms to facilitate student engagement during their lessons. The newly built College of Nursing had already been using Newline displays in a truly interactive, flipped-style teaching environment with great success.

Solution

The initial implementation included 25 units of VN Series displays in 86” throughout classrooms in the campus. UMHB then paired the Newline displays with on-board PCs, enabling a seamless learning experience with the familiar Windows system. This proved to be a successful solution that resulted in a greater depth of knowledge and a higher percentage of graduates from the school.

Results

Due to the success of the Newline interactive displays in the UMHB classrooms, the school found an additional use case for interactivity in their new college museum. They installed multiple Newline displays throughout, and as visitors make their way through the museum, they interact with the Newline screens to learn more about the history of the University.

UMHB is very satisfied with the Newline interactive displays, especially with the service and support of the Newline brand. As the school continues to grow, being so satisfied with the Newline solutions, it looks for additional installations of Newline interactive displays across the campus.
