Newline Lyra Pro Takes the Next Step: Now Upgraded to Android 14

We are pleased to announce that Newline Lyra Pro interactive displays have received a major operating system upgrade to Android 14, delivered under Google’s Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement (EDLA) framework. This strategic enhancement significantly improves performance, privacy, accessibility, and enterprise security. It has been tailored to meet the specific needs of educational institutions and professional environments. Android 14 introduces a range of capabilities designed to strengthen Lyra Pro’s position as one of the most advanced and secure EDLA-certified interactive displays currently available.

Tailored for Education and Business

This latest version builds upon Android 13, adding features that enhance device stability, improve multitasking, and increase protection for users and their data. The system now ensures more efficient memory and background process management, which allows multiple applications to run fluidly and reliably. Security has also been reinforced. The system introduces advanced certificate management tools, improved PIN entry interfaces, and support for stronger compliance with organizational IT standards. These improvements give institutions and businesses greater confidence in managing devices across shared environments. Privacy features have been expanded. Android 14 allows users to grant applications access to specific images and videos rather than their entire media libraries. Applications also receive less sensitive data by default, and the system discreetly notifies users when screenshots are taken during app activity. The update enhances accessibility support. Larger font scaling, higher contrast options, and customizable display settings provide inclusive usability for a wide range of users, both in classrooms and in meeting spaces. Connectivity options have been improved as well. Android 14 supports satellite connection where compatible hardware is available, ensuring stable performance even in remote or infrastructure-limited environments.
