FLEX WINS RED DOT AWARD FOR HIGH-END DESIGN

Allen, TX (April 12, 2021) – Newline has been successful in the Red Dot Award “Product Design 2021” category. The international jury has awarded Newline Flex the distinction “Red Dot”, which stands for high design quality.

Leading the next gen of desktop collaboration

For the development of Flex, Newline has dived deep into the needs for the post-pandemic workplace. Videocalls have helped us to ensure business continuity during the pandemic. Work from home has opened new dimensions for the future workplace and the fact that work tools need to be intuitive has become a rule, not an exception.

Flex is a versatile all-in-one 27” touch monitor designed to facilitate desktop collaboration. The design focuses on several ergonomic topics. The screen aligns with your eye level and the natural 10° tilt provides a comfortable viewing angle compared to a regular monitor. Flex can tilt up to 45° which allows the user to place their palm on the screen and annotate in a natural writing position with the active pen. The 4K camera with facial recognition can be tilted and turned to ensure a convenient position for the user. The microphone picks up voice very well, so no need to raise one’s voice or move closer to the mic. The overall result is a more productive video call experience saving the user energy in communication. Flex is suitable for any workplace, office or classroom, and is especially ideal for working from home. Existing devices as a laptop or computer can be connected to Flex. Flex truly has the potential to revolutionize the way we work.

“As the name suggests, Newline Flex is a unique solution with flexible features and can be flexible enough to fit any market. Flex was purposely designed to meet the needs of the ever-changing work environment,” said Chris Bradford, president of Newline Interactive.

Red Dot is ‘the’ evaluation platform for outstanding high-end design

The Red Dot Award for Product Design dates back as far as 1955 and recognizes the best products for a given year. In search of good design and innovation, the international panel of experts comprises specialists from a wide variety of sectors. The jury spans several days and is guided by assessment criteria such as quality, ergonomics, aesthetic appeal, functionality, smart innovation, and longevity.

“The winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021 were particularly impressive this year. The design of their products is excellent, in terms of both aesthetic and functionality. It’s not easy to prevail in such a strong field of competitors and to win over our jury. Consequently, I want to congratulate the laureates very sincerely on their success,” Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot.
